A.J. Murray


A.J. is a Sr. Network Deployment Engineer and Team Lead for Red River. He has spent 15+ years in IT as a generalist working as a Systems Administrator, Network Engineer, and IT Manager, covering Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware Virtualization. He is now turning his focus to networking with a focus on Software-Defined networking technologies, including SD-WAN and Data Center solutions. Additionally, he writes articles on his blog, which can be found at, and teaches courses as an Adjunct Professor at Champlain College. For his work as a writer/blogger A.J. has been recognized as both a Cisco Champion and VMware vExpert.

Andy Lapteff


Andy is a Network Engineer working in Fintech, where he builds and maintains the backbone network of a Fortune 500 company. He has over a decade of blended technical experience, where he worked his way up from cable guy to network engineer guy.

When he’s not permitting packets, he can be found creating content for the network engineering community on his YouTube channel and blog named Permit IP Andy Andy. For his contributions to the community, he was named Cisco Champion in 2020 and 2021. In his spare time Andy enjoys being outdoors with his family, photography, cycling, fishing, BBQ, playing guitar and learning new things.


Daniel Richards


Dan is a network engineer currently working in the insurance industry. He is a jack of all trades master of none kind of engineer, wearing many hats including cloud, WAN, LAN, Data Center, firewall, and load balancing. 

Married with a son, he enjoys spending time with his family. Outside of technology, Dan likes to be outdoors. Fun fact: he is also a wedding photographer/videographer.

Tim Bertino


Tim Bertino is a Senior Network Engineer with over ten years of professional IT experience.  He has a passion for network design and finding the right solutions that fit business needs. Outside of co-hosting on the show, Tim also writes content for the blog.  He has authored content for the CCNA series and the Faces of the Journey line of posts.
